Youth Camp

Hi. Thanks for being patient. I haven't been able to get online except once since I got in Ukraine.

Youth camp was spiritually very good. The last service of camp was so wonderful, it made up for all the difficulties of roughing it in nature. We had several kids who prayed and repented. One boy (16) said he knew God was asking him to quit his job in a bar. After camp, he went home and told his dad that he was going to quit and his dad told him if he did, he would kick him out of the house. So, please pray for Artyom. Last night at church, another boy, Dima, stood and made a public profession of faith. Praise God!

Physically, youth camp was exhausting. I learned a few things, though. You can be so tired you have no trouble sleeping on the ground or even sitting against a tree. Hand dug latrines are the best way to cut your food and drink consumption. Washing dishes in lake water won't kill you. You can even fix spaghetti over an open fire. Orange peels can make your tent smell better. Taking a bath in the lake is better than no bath at all. You must keep the screens on your tent zipped at all times.

The American TLC team left Nova Odessa today. The Drummonds took them to Kyiv at 6 this morning. I really enjoyed having them here. They really connected with the kids, and they made camp very special. We will miss them.

It is great to hear from you. Glad youth camp went well and that you survived. It actually sounds like fun. Take care. Julie
